MUSIC PRODUCTION IN PRO TOOLS

Record Sound and Edit Sound has students examining the fundamentals of recording and capturing source and location audio files along with advanced audio editing techniques within a DAW (digital audio workstation) software Pro Tools 12 environment. Additionally, fundamental concepts related to recording are covered such as microphone placement (close, distant, ambient etc.), microphone arrangement (XY, Blumleim, ORTF etc.) microphone patterns (omnidirectional, cardioid etc.) and much more.
Students studying this short course will develop a range of skills involved in recording and editing of sound including set up of recording equipment, conducting sound checks and adjusting as required, implement a recording plan as part of a collaborative team and produce a final sound recording and related documentation per production requirements.
